Wes Montgomery – Missile Blues
I just got this Wes Montgomery book. Then I was checking out YouTube and found this guy. Impressive!
Another Great Jim Campilongo Video
In this one he discusses his ’59 Tele, goes through some of the settings on his Princeton amp and finally pulls out his signature Custom Shop Telecaster–one of just two done in “semi-orange.” Also shows off some of his favorite chords. Watch!
John Frusciante – Blood Sugar Sex Magik Guitar Tracks
Yes, MORE RHCP! Here is a very cool video with all John Frusciante’s guitar tracks from Blood Sugar Sex Magik Guitar Tracks. And I have the full list of guitars and effects John used for each song after the jump–but it’s mostly Strats and the Boss DS-2.
The Replacements Alex Chilton
The Replacements appeared on Jimmy Fallon last night and played the song Alex Chilton from their great Pleased To Meet Me album. I saw them play this song back in 1988 (or ’89?). Looks like they still got it.
This Town Needs Guns
I guess they changed their name to TTNG. Anyway, incredible stuff.
Nashville Guitar with Guthrie Trapp
Cool video with Guthrie Trapp. I haven’t even had time to watch the whole thing yet! And I got a video of Guthrie performing after the jump!
Catching Up With Jim Campilongo
Fender just posted this. Pretty cool.
The Hold Steady – Spinners
Here is a very cool little lesson by Tad Kubler and Steve Selvidge of The Hold Steady. The song is Spinners–one of my favorites off their new album Teeth Dreams. I like what they have to say at the end about rhythm. Via Guitar World
Red Hot Chili Peppers – I Could Have Lied
I know, I know… more Chill Peppers and more Marty. But this is a good one! John Frusciante rocks!
